“..the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”
Col 1:25-29
The Local Outreach Team is responsible for all local outreach through the church. Our desire is to provide opportunities for church members to be able to reach out to the community around us. We do this through organizing various outreach events throughout the year. Vigilant and earnest prayer is also essential in this ministry. As we preach the message of Christ, it is absolutely imperative that we beseech the Lord to open the hearts of these people to respond to the message that they hear.
As God called each one of his children to go and make disciples of the nations, we have a responsibility to share the gospel with those in our own community. The goal of this team is not to create activities for our enjoyment, or to create a type of evangelism where we are centered on what will attract people to come to church by any means. But our goal is to shine Christ through the body of the church through special outreach events, local mission trips, local campus evangelism, and providing opportunities for church members to bring friends, families, and loved ones to hear the gospel
This blog has been specifically designed to be a resource for our church members. It has information about different religions and what they believe, links to sites that can help answer tough questions that non-believers may ask, and our weekly evangelism times. We will also be posting articles, videos, books, etc. to encourage and spur the church as they daily strive to witness to their family, friends, and loved ones around them.
We hope that these resources will be of help. However, nothing can replace the power of God’s truth, the power of the gospel, or the power of the Holy Spirit, to change the minds and hearts of men.
If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions about what you would like to see on this blog, please let us know!
